The International Jugglers' Association (IJA) is a great
volunteer-run juggling organization that publishes the excellent
JUGGLE magazine, puts out very popular DVDs every year (with good
discounts for IJA members), and has a fun-filled juggling festival
every summer. If you're a juggler, I strongly suggest that you join the IJA. See Upcoming
Juggling Festivals below for info on the next IJA festival.
In 2007, the Postal Regulatory Commission accepted a magazine postal
rate increase proposal from Time Warner, the industry's largest
publisher, that gave large publishers smaller rate increases than
small publishers like the IJA.

The Stanford Court Jugglers, an affiliate of the IJA, meets
Wednesday evenings at Stanford University. Our meeting location
sometimes changes, but we juggle Wednesdays from about 7:30pm till
about 10:30pm. (If you show up at 7:30 and no one's there yet,
there'll probably be someone there before 8pm.)
We've been meeting at Stanford since 1980, but since our meeting
place occasionally changes, you may want to join our email list (see
below) to be notified of such changes and of other juggling events.

We meet year round. Here are the current meeting details:
In addition, there is a Friday afternoon juggling meeting at
Stanford, namely Down With Gravity.
They meet about 3pm-5pm on the grass in White Plaza between the
bookstore and Tresidder Union. (There are no Friday meetings between
school quarters or during the summer.)
And there is a Saturday afternoon juggling meeting at the Klutz
store in Palo Alto at 572 College Avenue just off El Camino. They
meet about 3:30-5:30pm.

- 2008 Sep 26-28: The Portland Juggling
Festival. A great fest, in Portland, Oregon, with very good
facilities, workshops and shows.
- 2008 Oct 10-12: Don't miss the fourth Berkeley Juggling and
Unicyle Festival. Mostly free except for the public
show.
- 2009 Mar 27-29: The Pacific Northwest
Juggling Convention will be held in Corvallis, Oregon, on the
campus of Oregon State University.
- 2009 Jun 20: World
Juggling Day! Jugglers all over the world will be juggling on
WJD, at numerous different events around the globe. Starting around
February 2009 you'll be able to register on the WJD website to enter
the giveaway of various juggling prizes. If you're holding a WJD
event, be sure to register it on the WJD site for the free publicity.

- 2009 Jul 13-19: The seven-day 62nd Annual IJA juggling
festival will be in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The
juggling facilities and theatre will be very good. Special guests
and the overall schedule will be announced around January.

- 2005 Feb x-y: The Damento Juggling Festival
in Sacramento, California at Cosumnes River College -- great fest,
inexpensive, lots of jugglers, good indoor facility, not very far
away.
- 2005 Aug 19-21: Coeur d' Alene
Juggling Festival on the North Idaho College campus, on the

- 2006 Jun 16-18: The Seattle
International Juggling Festival at Seattle Center (by the
Space Needle) over the World Juggling Day weekend.
- 2007 Feb 17-18: Southern
California Juggling Festival. Hosted by Claremont High School
Juggling Club, Claremont, CA.
- 2007 Jun 15-17: The 3nd Annual
Boulder Juggling Festival will be hosted at the Boulder Circus
Center in Boulder, Colorado.
- 2007 Nov 9-11: This year the Nomadic Juggling
Festival will be in at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo,
California (about 200 miles southeast of Stanford via US 101).
- 2008 Mar 14-16: Humboldt Juggling
Festival. The Humboldt Juggling Society, a Humboldt State
University club, presents its annual festival, in Arcata,
California.
- 2008 Mar 14-16: The Victoria
Juggling Festival will be held at the University of Victoria
in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
- 2008 May 2-4: Isla
Vista Juggling Festival — just north of Santa Barbara,
California, about a five-hour drive from Stanford. Note that the fest
is NOT on Easter weekend this year but is the first weekend in May.
This is the longest running regional juggling festival in the world,
having started in 1977 (only the big IJA fest has been going on
longer -- since 1948).
